June 7 is the 39th anniversary of Dorothy Parker’s death. We always have a cocktail in her honor. This year, we are going to try something different, and visit a place that is in her former neighborhood on the Upper East Side. It is not too far from Dottie’s last house, or where her funeral was held.
At around 8 p.m. we will be going to Elaine’s, one of the most celebrated saloons in town. It needs no introduction about what Elaine’s means to New York. The address: 1703 2nd Ave. (between 88th and 89th streets). Elaine’s links here, here and don’t miss this one. There is even a book.
No need to RSVP, just show up, we’ll have a table.
