Dash and Lilly Coming to TV

We have been buzzing about it for months, and A&E is finally talking about Dash and Lilly, first reported in January. Live in New York? There is a billboard on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway with the two stars. Of course, Bebe Neuwirth plays Dorothy Parker, but she isn't on the billboard, which is a drag. It would be awesome to have the visage of Dottie glaring down on drivers as they inched their way to LaGuardia and JFK airports.

It will air May 31 at 7 and 10 p.m. (Send me reviews). Here is what A&E PR says: Dash and Lilly. Movie. The passionate affair of literary titans Dashiell Hammett (Sam Shepard) and Lillian Hellman (Judy Davis)--the hard-drinking, chain-smoking duo who rode a 30-year emotional roller-coaster, cheating on each other, fighting McCarthyism, and working on Broadway and in Hollywood. With Bebe Neuwirth. Kathy Bates directs. (1999) (cc) [TV PG].
